EHS Coordinator - Lafayette, LA
Advantage Resourcing is hiring for an EHS Coordinator for a facility in the Lafayette area. This position will work closely with all levels of personnel in assisting with EHS, HR, and a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
• Assist in the implementation of EHS programs and procedures that address regulatory and permit requirements, corporate policies, and best practices • Provide EHS training to new hires and refresher training to employees and manage EHS training Documentation • Manage Emergency Action Plan • Support in accident investigation and incident management processes • Manage/maintain plant alarm system • Assist or lead EHS committees and meetings • Maintain and provide information on emergency response procedures, hazardous material handling, risk assessment / JSA’s and industrial hygiene policies • Responsible for managing industrial hygiene sampling data, routine medical surveillance, and EHS training records • Management of KMI • Maintain and support SDS database • Set up weekly report, completed EHS section of weekly report • Maintain man hour reports on a weekly/monthly basis • Create daily safety topics including uploading to DMS • Provide GHS labels to QA for production • Ensure gas meters are calibrated • Maintain Safety Hero Program • Manage Employee Badge System • Assist with the managing of the Waste Water Treatment Plant • Oversee the disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste • Develop and prepare EHS reports and statistical data as required
• Implementation of new hire orientation and maintaining of personnel files • Assist in the implementation of HR programs and procedures • Update EE and emergency contact list
• Administrative office tasks • Assist with maintaining Document Management System • Assist with IT issues • Other duties as assigned
Candidates should have the following:
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with operations staff as well as management • Able to manage multiple, concurrent projects, effectively deal with deadlines, and manage changing priorities • Demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple and varied tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment • Working knowledge/understanding of basic safety and environmental principles • Working knowledge of OSHA (PSM) and LDEQ regulations • Public speaking, training, and coaching skills • Strong team player with ability to share assignments • Must have strong working knowledge of computers
Position will pay approximatley $16-26/hr., DOE.
