Purchasing - Planning Assistant - Van Nuys, CA

A leading fragrance producer, located in the San Fernando Valley is seeking an energetic individual for a 3-month project (potentially longer-term) in their purchasing and planning department.

Duites and Responsibilities are as follows:

•Reading and understanding inventory reports for planning and purchasing to ensure adequate stock is available for manufacturing.

•Creating purchase orders to approved vendors as per SOPs

•Sourcing components, equipment, supplies, and contractors. •Maintaining good relationships with vendors.

•Following up on open orders to ensure timely deliveries.

•Coordinating with manufacturing staff.

•Resolving order discrepancies and quality issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

•Minimum of 2-3 years of purchasing/planning experience in either in the frangrance, food or cosmetics industries.

•Proficient knowledge of Excel and experience with ERP systems.

•Ability to problem solve and multi-task efficiently; must be able to work on simultaneous projects.

•Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

•Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional sense of organization and thorough in completing work tasks.
