Field Service Representative - Houma, LA

Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains products/equipment. Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and/or 10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. ? Analyzes, determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs. ? Sets standards of quality and insures customer satisfaction with work product. ? Directly supervise and train a team of Field Technicians – execute responsibilities in accordance with company policies. ? Participate as needed in developing work scopes for the jobs. ? Attend customer meetings as required/communicate to management. ? Helps determine project scope and insures parameters of projects are met. May modify project with customer interaction to insure customer needs are met. ? Monitor paperwork flow to ensure accuracy and completeness through billing process. ? Provide preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression, process, and/or production equipment on site at client locations. ? Complete troubleshooting and repairing equipment, packages, and systems. ? Complete minor and major overhauls, repairs and revamps. ? Set level and align prime mover to driven equipment using dial indicators and/or laser alignment tools. ? Provide labor, guidance, and coordination required for immediate repair needs and major equipment overhauls and operation. ? Identify and address equipment, package, and plant issues. ? Provides input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning. ? Assist in equipment Start-up/Commissioning – broad understanding of procedures and requirements. ? Maintain knowledgeable of Purging and loading practices/procedures. ? Complete proper reports/actions required by the location's operating policies. ? Fully participate in all safety programs, and complies with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies ? Participate fully in ARKOS’s incident reporting and investigation program as well a customer’s incident reporting and investigation program ? Participate fully in site specific Emergency Action Plans. ? Be able to negotiate or participate in negotiations with contractors and sub- contractors as needed. ? Coordinate and assign lead technicians and other personnel to defined tasks. ? Review job parts & supply inventory to minimize investment while maintaining a sufficient level to insure proper job performance. ? Fill in as a Supervisor when needed. QUALIFICATIONS: ? High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Vocational school or Associate’s Degree (AA) preferred. ? Minimum 3 years' experience in the field or certificate of completion from acceptable trade school or military training and experience in related field. ? Basic understanding of Compressor and auxiliary equipment types, models, and theory of operation. ? Currently comply with and/or be able to successfully complete Health Safety training applicable to job assignment and duties ? Must have valid driver's license and good driving record. ? Ability to identify workplace Safety, Health and Environmental hazards and how to eliminate or mitigate such hazards. ? Basic understanding of Installation, Assembly, Trouble Shooting and Repair procedures related to gas compressors and production equipment. ? Knowledge of Pressure Ratings, Piping Schedules, Safety Systems rated to installation and commissioning of gas compressors and production equipment. ? Thorough understanding of tooling utilized to install, maintain, and operate Gas Compressors and Production Equipment. ? Ability to decipher P&ID's, Blue Prints, Installation Instructions, and Technical Manuals. ? Strong mechanical ability related to Assembly and Disassembly. ? Strong aptitude to Trouble Shoot and Repair malfunctioning equipment. ? Proficient in computer skills necessary to submit detailed reports, documentation and utilize OEM Firm ware related to commissioning. ? Special Equipment and Tools Used Requiring Application Knowledge as required by assigned job specifications PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: ? Ability to perform the physical labor necessary. ? Works occasional overtime in the field or shop. ? Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the use of proper lifting techniques and procedures. ? Stand, walk, climb, perform overhead work with fall protection, use hands to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, sit, talk and hear. ? At least 20/40 arrested binocular vision, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. ? Ability to kneel, balance, push, pull, drive, stoop, climb, and crouch. ? Perform duties while using respiratory protection such as: ? SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) in potentially hazardous environments ? APR (air purifying respirator) outfitted with cartridge filters used while painting ? Particle masks used while buffing and/or grinding ? Must be able to conform to customer-required physical and medical standards. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Work 8-10 hour or more daily shifts in difficult exposed outdoor environment for extended periods of time. • Requires travel.
