Offshore Call Out Technician - Houma, LA

Provides preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression, process and/or production equipment on site at client locations both onshore and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico working a call out schedule. This position will be for the After-Market Services group based in Houma, and New Iberia LA and will include both Offshore and On Shore call out. Crew change locations are XXXX is important because of mileage paid to LOA or Not? • Directs, coordinates, and assists with equipment repairs and maintenance. • Demonstrates proficiency in accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor systems. • Possesses a strong knowledge of new compressor technologies and comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills. • Responds to emergency maintenance calls. • Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, and other necessary paperwork. • Represents the company in a professional manner at all times. • Is dedicated to customer service and maintains professional working relationships with customers and co-workers. Basic Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years prior experience working on CAT 3600 to include field overhaul • Minimum of 7 years prior experience as a Natural Gas maintenance mechanic with prior experience working with different types Natural gas engines (Waukesha, White, GE, CAT Etc) and natural gas compressors (Ariel, AJAX, Etc) and/or production equipment • CAT Engine training and compressor schools / training • Basic computer skills and ability to be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Read, write, speak and understand basic English. Preferred Requirements: • Waukesha training and experience • Knowledge of high and slow speed equipment. • Significant experience in engine, compressor mechanics, production equipment and gas compression equipment. • Advanced knowledge of compressor packages including all component systems. Physical Strain: • Must be willing to travel extensively. • Drive and work in inclement weather conditions for extended periods. • Must be able to work under pressure • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Essential Functions: Overview: Performs maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment, at customer's location, as directed. Skills and Abilities: Ability to: • Demonstrate proficiency in accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations • Show track record of performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) with no guidance and minimal COs due to poor PM work • Perform Major Maintenance (MM), Overhauls, and MOB / DEMOB as part of a team • Perform most Call Outs without assistance from a technical expert • Demonstrate customer service skills • Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.) • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures • Use intermediate computer skills, including engine specific software (Cat and Waukesha), Internet Explorer and Outlook • Complete and submit company required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion Knowledge: • Knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, etc., through Compressor 101, equivalent training or performance verification • Knowledge of some new technologies • Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations • General understanding of customers production equipment • Scrubbers, on/off skid. Generally understands all processes and systems on how a compressor works • Knowledge of company maintenance standards checklist and ability to accurately and completely follow Minimum Education and Certification: • High school diploma or equivalent preferr

Leadership: • May serve as a resource to others with less experience • Often called on to assist in training or mentoring less experienced FSTs Non-Essential Duties: • Performs other duties as assigned.
