Advantage Resourcing is hiring for a Payroll Specialist

Job Functions:payr

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 400+ employees, including exempt/non-exempt
  • Serve as Payroll system expert and suggest and implement system and process improvements.
  • Review the time records and other data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Integrate reports of tips into payroll records.
  • Maintain software on payroll and tip records.
  • Review quarterly and yearly payroll tax filings.
  • File required reports related to personnel to various federal and state government agencies.
  • Point of contact for all employee/Manager payroll inquiries.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable – entry, check printing, filing.
  • Assist with preparation of Journal Entries.
  • Reconcile W-2G activity weekly.
  • Assist with 1099-MISC preparation and filing annually.
  • Other various Payroll/Accounting related duties as necessary.

Skills/Attributes/Experience

  • The Payroll/Accounting Specialist will strive to maintain updated knowledge of the legal requirements in the payroll area.
  • Must be a self-starter with an attitude of ownership who takes pride in their work.
  • Computer Savvy.
  • Solution driven problem solver.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • 3-5 years’ experience processing payroll.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
