Compliance Auditor - Monroe, LA

Affordable Housing Compliance

Serve as company subject matter in all areas of federal, state, and local regulations as well as staying abreast of the many circumstances faced by applicants and residents for the purpose of advising property management and executive staff accordingly.

Implement company-wide and ensure adherence to all rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by Section 42 of the IRS Code as well as state and local laws that pertain to Fair Housing laws and guidelines.

Training compliance department staff to be knowledgeable in all facets of each program

Oversee the maintenance of over 4,300 resident files and their compliance with all applicable federal, state and local programs.

Develop curriculum for and conduct routine as well as special needs training workshops for property management personnel, as well as other employees, om standard operating procedures as related to implementation and adherence to federal, state and local laws.

Create all necessary forms for each property to facilitate their adherence to all applicable regulations and laws.

Develop and retain good working relationships with all applicable federal, state and local governing agencies for the purpose of retaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations and laws, promptly acting upon changes in regulations and laws and ensuring good standing between the company and governing agencies

Ensure integrity of staff and all property managers as related to application of the company standard operating procedures and government regulations; available to assist property management personnel in all compliance needs while keeping at the forefront all company mission and vision components

Special projects as assigned by direct supervisor



Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years related work experience

Knowledge of all pertinent housing credit federal, state and local regulations preferred

Completed Housing Credit College Series and attained COS or CPO professional designation preferred

Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Explorer are required

Experience or ability to lead others

Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond positively to changes in priorities

Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills•

Strong organizational skills; strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy; ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
