Quality Inspector - Independence, LA

Local Tanigpahoa Client seeking an experienced QA Inspector

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Skills, knowledge and abilities include, but shall not be limited to:

Knowledge and ability to follow regulations pertaining to good manufacturing practices.

Production and Processing-Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Technology-Knowledge of the practical application of technology.  This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services as related to the field.

Mathematics-Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their application.

Reading comprehension-Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Quality Control Analysis-Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Science-Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.

Information Ordering-Has the ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a scientific rule or set of rules.

Understand and apply product deviation from accepted manufacturing standards.

Assist and follow the instruction and direction of the Quality Manager.

Examine raw materials and finished manufactured products to ensure compliance with good manufacturing and API practices.

Use of inspection equipment and gauges

Ring and plug, MRP’s, Mic Trac, Thread height gauges, calipers, Mics, etc.

 Procedures:

Use established In-House procedures

Have a working knowledge of API specifications

Have a working knowledge of customer requirements

Review drawings before and during the product inspection process

Traceability:

Documentation of measurements.

Use of appropriate exhibits, forms and documents.

Analyze manufacturing failures and suggest potential solutions.

Help update inspection procedures and checklists as needed.

Handle non-conformances, reworks, scraps appropriately

Test equipment:

Using and maintaining

Calibration

Assist the calibration technician in upkeep of calibrated gauges
