Supports the Sanitation Lead in maintaining the cleanliness of the physical plant and equipment, including the building structure and process equipment on assigned shift. Follows all sanitation processes in compliance with all company, local, state and federal food sanitation standards. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s). Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment to support the next production run. Ensures compliance for work documentation and for nurturing a positive team environment on shift. Duties • Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by the Sanitation Lead or Sanitation Supervisor. • Responsible for the cleanliness of the physical plant and equipment to be audit ready every day. • Must be able to multi-task with minimal supervision. • Must work as a team player, ensuring cleaning specifications are achieved and in a safe and efficient manner. • Communicate well with other team members. • Assist in other areas as assigned by Sanitation Lead or Sanitation Supervisor. • Must follow Company’s GMP’s, SOP’s, plant rules, other policies and codes of conduct. • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. • Complies with sanitation and housekeeping operations in accordance with cGMP’s, SSOP’s and HACCP policies and procedures. • Maintain accurate and timely sanitation records in compliance with all regulatory agencies. • Must follow line-specific cleaning and sanitation instructions. • Follow work rules, methods, and procedures for assigned tasks. • Carries out work assignments for the shift sanitation workers to support production schedules and requirements. • Coordinate sanitation activities with production startups, shutdowns, preventive maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, and changeovers. • Disassembles washes, cleans and sanitizes all production line equipment as required or after a changeover to prevent cross-contamination of product. Cleans walls, floors, overhead pipes, and drains within the department using established procedures. • Washes all utensils used for processing and mixing of products. • Follow sanitation procedures for proper chemical solutions use, and proper concentrations so that it is not harmful to workers or equipment. • Performs duties designed to control insects within the plant. • General housekeeping in warehouse and office areas (taking out trash, removing scrap, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping of the floors, cleaning up any messes or spills). Keeps the building’s interior and exterior clean and orderly. • Follows all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE. Reports any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor. • Follows all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes). • Supports product safety, quality and legality. • Supports, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs. • Follows all company policies and procedures. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • High School Diploma/GED. • Experience in a plant production environment. • Experience in drug, food or beverage manufacturing plant preferred. • Self-starter with Integrity and Commitment. • Mechanical aptitude to understand and effect equipment operation and basic maintenance for the job function described. • Ability to understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Must have basic oral and written communication skills. • Follow and understand color code. • High standard of punctuality and attendance. • Must be detailed oriented. • Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch. • Ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance, when required) • Available to work a Sunday-Thursday schedule, with Friday and Saturday work as dictated by production needs. • Available for Shift rotation or flexible shift rotation schedule.
