Application Support Specialist - Houston, TX

The Company's business offerings include remotely operated vehicles, built-to-order specialty subsea hardware, deepwater intervention and manned diving services, non-destructive testing and inspections, mobile offshore production systems, and engineering and project management.


Position Summary


Provides application support to end users on a variety of issues/support for PeopleSoft Modules – Asset Management, General Ledger, and Project Costing. Lead teams to develop business requirements, conduct system test and lead user test for enhancement requests.? Participate in upgrade teams. Maintain the documentation necessary to track the issues and solutions. Assist and document configuration and testing of financial modules to The Company specifications. Maintain user training documentation. Works under limited supervision; relies on guidelines, established or in the making, to perform the functions of this job. Knowledge of two out of the following three PeopleSoft modules is required: General Ledger, Project Costing, or Asset Management; Knowledge of multiple international currencies in PeopleSoft Financials is required; Knowledge of additional PS financial modules is a plus; Knowledge of Datango or Primavera is a plus; Some travel required, possibly international.


Duties & Responsibilities



    • Coordinates the configuration/setup/maintenance/customizations and new implementation of PeopleSoft Financial application to The Company specifications.



    • Coordinate with all business units & service lines worldwide to ensure compliance with overall company PeopleSoft Financial application initiatives.



    • Develop and maintain executive approved PeopleSoft Financial application business programs



    • Define business requirements to meet PeopleSoft Financial application business imperatives.



    • Coordinate all executive approved PeopleSoft Financial application initiatives/priorities with management, end users, IT and other support organizations.



    • Coordinate all testing of all PeopleSoft Financial application solutions, process and functionality, to ensure delivery of quality solutions.



    • Interface with the Business to resolve PeopleSoft Financial application related issues including data quality and system performance.



    • Develop "best practices" and standards; develop systems’ interfaces with other enterprise system owners to ensure that business processes are streamlined and business goals are achieved.



    • Ensure effective organizational change management for PeopleSoft Financial application including training, communications, and organizational alignment.



    • Maintain a website on the Oceanet dedicated to the PeopleSoft Financial system which provides information to financial end users and Core Team on matters related to PS System financial policies and procedures, end user problem resolution, frequently asked questions (FAQs), etc.



    • Measure and report on the impact of the PeopleSoft Financial application on business process efficiency, effectiveness and user satisfaction.



    • Possible Travel both internationally and domestically.



    • Work closely with both internal and external customers, as required.



    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.




Bachelor’s Degree required, Master Degree a plus. Must have a very strong and highly detailed knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.X, with 5 (plus) years experience on PeopleSoft version 8.8 or higher. Must possess a basic working knowledge of the following: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and the internet. Must be highly competent in business process development, analysis and continuous improvement with the PeopleSoft domain. Must have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels. Must possess good analytical skills in order to troubleshoot and resolve business process, information system and interpersonal issues. A general knowledge of General Ledger, Asset Management and Project Costing modules required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks is necessary. Solid team leadership and management skills highly desirable. Prior experience working overseas with multiple cultures and with many nationalities desirable. ?

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a very strong and highly detailed knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials 9.X as well as basic knowledge of the following: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Access and the internet. Working knowledge of interfacing with other PS production environments and third party applications highly desirable.
