Job Description:

Analyzes/interprets test results, predicting performance/failure and providing required product/design data, identifying issues/developing countermeasures, communicating test results clearly in written reports/formal presentations and proposing design changes and recommending countermeasures based on analysis of testing results. 

Dynamic Performance Test Contingent Engineer (VP4): 

  • Manage vehicle development schedule and specification. 
  • Prepare and conduct vehicle tests, evaluate test data, report results. 
  • BS Degree in ME/EE. 
  • 6 years of related experience may be substituted for required 
  • Requires a 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Test Engineer with over 5 years of test engineering experience in required test and confirmation per area of specialty. 

Group Responsibility: 
  • Frame-side powertrain integration (radiator performance, underhood thermal performance, acceleration performance and feeling, gradeability with and without trailer, water and snow ingestion). 
  • Perform chassis dynamometer testing for engine cooling and heat resistance of components. 
  • Perform vehicle test planning (attend meetings, create schedules, evaluation of test data and reporting of results) 
  • Participate in development and evaluation of new components and specifications 
  • Participate in the evaluation and improvement of market complaint issues related to vehicle operation in severe conditions. 
  • Operate data acquisition equipment and analysis software as needed. 
  • Travel to test locations and supplier/vendor sites as necessary. 
  • Overtime and off-hours work is required.
