As our Shipping & Receiving Associate, you’ll be instrumental in receiving, storing and shipping state of the art, high tech equipment around the world as we build fully functional distribution centers from scratch.  

Within one month:

·       Take full ownership of the shipping and receiving space in the South San Francisco warehouse.

·       Get familiar with stakeholders from different teams (Build, Flight Ops, New Deployments, Distribution Centers) and understand their material/equipment requirements

Within 3 months:

·       You will have complete understanding of what is coming and going into the Zipline Warehouse

·       You’ve improved on warehouse and logistics processes adding your personal touch to how inventory is stored, labeled and moved in the most efficient manner possible

Within six months:

·       People seek you out for anything shipping related

·       You’ve developed processes and habits, for yourself and others, that make use of forecasting and data-driven analysis to ensure a streamlined inventory control process

Responsibilities:

·       Ensure all shipments, incoming and outgoing, are managed efficiently and on time

·       Maintain warehouse organization for both incoming and outgoing materials/equipment

·       Oversee packaging and shipping

·       Create and place barcodes and appropriate tags on incoming materials/equipment

·       Inspect merchandise condition and act accordingly when defects are detected

·       Use NetSuite software to track the receipt and shipment of materials/equipment

·       Follow up and follow through with material/vendor deliveries to adhere to project timelines

·       Maintain appropriate shipping and receiving documentation

·       Comply with safety protocol with material handling and shipping requirements

·       Provide high caliber work while working independently

Experience:

·       Experience communicating and negotiating with vendors and shippers

·       Understanding of logistics as it relates to inventory control

·       Must have proven track record of attention to details

·       Strong communication skills to coordinate efforts with multiple geographically distributed teams

·       Experience and certification operating a forklift

·       Pick up and handle packages up to 50 lbs

·       Familiarity with Excel, Google Apps, and inventory management systems.
