Mechanical Engineer Thermal - Sterling Heights, MI

Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer with experience in thermal performance and expansion of materials related to the design, manufacture and performance of a vehicle exhaust system.  Able to interact with analysts to perform CFD on the system, experience in acoustics is a plus. Able to interact with designers to integrate system into the hull.
- Develop sub-system/component level requirements and design concepts.
- Design, select, integrate components
- Source select and interface with suppliers
- Perform engineering analysis to evaluate sub-system/component designs.
- Work with design services to create/release detailed models and drawings.
- Support concurrent engineering, procurement and prototype

 build/integration activities.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 6-9 years of applicable experience fewer years with an advanced degree
- Self starter, highly motivated
- Perform preliminary design and analysis
- Work in an Integrated Product Team environment and be able to communicate across functional organizations
- Trouble shooting vehicle subsystems
- Performing failure analysis & be able to provide technical direction for corrective action solutions
- Write technical reports & modification instructions
- Pro Engineering (Pro E) and or Unigrapics NX
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required
- Must be able to work in office, shop, test lab and test site environments
- Must be able to work overtime if required
