Typical shift is 8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday 

Job description: 
As a Software Asset Analyst in IT Vendor Management function you will be involved in the management of software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning and costing. 

Software Asset Analyst responsibilities:
o Serve as the SAM subject matter expert and IT Vendor Management owner for assigned strategic software vendor relationships and associated software licensing. 
o Serve as the primary point of contact to IT Service Line Owners for assigned strategic software vendors and associated licensing. 
o Lead and/or facilitate software audit and true-up processes. 
o Collect and maintain accurate and complete software licensing information in repositories. 
o Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. 
o Develop processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software license data. 
o Provide analysis of the software license data that can be used to drive key business decisions. 
o Stay informed of new and updated software license models and options for key vendor products 

General Responsibilities 
o Facilitate the IT Service Line requirements by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration. 
o Communicate effectively through email, individual interviews, group meetings, and presentations to vendors, end users, IT stakeholders and internal business partners. 
o Respond to requests from end users, managers, vendors and team members. 

Reporting Relationships 

This role will report to the Manager of Software Asset Management. This area is under the leadership of the Director of IT Vendor Management.

o Able to successfully facilitate and/or support software licensing related projects. 
o Advanced to expert level with Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint 

Software Asset Management 
o Some knowledge of Software Asset Management principles and practices 
o Some experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions and facilitating vendor true-ups and audits for publishers such as Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, SAP, Symantec, IBM, HP, etc. 
o Some experience managing or working with IT vendors. 
o Strong customer service skills. 
o Some project management capabilities/skills. 

o BA/BS IT/IS Management, or 5 to 10 years of experience of an equivalent combination of education and experience in software asset management, sourcing, procurement or software contract management. 
o IAITAM certifications are not required but considered a plus: Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) and Certified ITIL Foundation or a strong knowledge of Software Asset Management principals / practices preferred.
