Job Title: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Newport, DE
Pay: 18-20/hr

Duties and responsibilities:

Learn/perform Lean Manufacturing principles & practices
Participate/contribute in Continuous Improvement programs

Perform assigned tasks in manufacturing plant:
Perform assigned tasks of Manufacturing Operator in all areas, including spinning, forming, winding, testing, etc.
Perform tasks to prepare product for shipment worldwide
Perform additional tasks as requested to support production needs
Support the training or cross-training of operators that are new to the work area

Setup, operate and maintain production equipment:
Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes and procedures to produce specific products according to our ISO 9001:2000/2015 quality system
Install fixtures, tooling and other parts for production machine setup to produce products from a variety of materials, according to work orders and specifications
Align and adjust machine settings, and synchronize speeds on sections of machine to deliver material and form product
Activate machinery and equipment, adjust set points to control machine functions, and observe operation of machine and product to detect and diagnose cause of faulty operation; report malfunctions to supervision or work leader
Keep machinery and equipment clean, replace worn parts and perform preventive maintenance as required
Record product information on data sheets or computer database to complete work order
Move material to work area and load into machine for processing

Inspect product, setup and adjust manufacturing equipment:
Inspect incoming materials and parts from warehouse as per inspection procedures as needed
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure
Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that equipment operation conforms to production or process standards

Meet or exceed the Companys safety and environmental standards:
Become fully trained and follow all safety procedures for the operation and use of equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Assure proper disposal of waste materials
Participate in Company safety programs
Comply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance and proper on the job conduct

Good hands-on mechanical ability with a general knowledge of machines and tools
General knowledge of computer operation in an industrial environment
Self starter who can manage workloads with minimum supervision
Fluency in English, verbal and written

Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 pounds of materials, supplies, tools, fixtures and equipment from floor to elevated positions
Reach and manipulate controls on equipment
Perform work activities above ground level
Perform work activities with production chemicals, adhesives and epoxies, using required personal protective equipment
Occasionally perform outdoor work activities in all weather conditions
Operate forklift and other material moving equipment
Perform job duties at all times of the day within a 24/7 plant operation

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Associates degree in Engineering Technology is highly desirable
Military technical training is highly desirable
Working conditions
The Site is a 24/7 operation. Most work cells are indoors. Some work is out in the weather. Most areas are climate controlled. The majority of an Operators work is conducted while standing.
