Job Description: 

As a Sr. Cloud Admin, you will be building, evolving, and operating the infrastructure automation platform used to power our Cloud Services. You will ensure that our production environment is operating, optimized and performing efficiently; and that software is released and deployed in an efficient and streamlined manner, from development all the way to production. This is a hands-on operational role with a balanced amount of tool and infrastructure development, including advanced scripting and automation. You will be supporting our internal infrastructure, as well as providing managed services support, product development, and support the entire stack for a cloud-based service offering. 
Success in this role requires very strong system administration skills, an aptitude for distributed systems and attention to minute details. To be successful in this role you will need to have exemplary network, systems and code-level troubleshooting abilities. You are expected analyze complex system behaviors or performance problems, and be able to trace issues across multiple systems. The Cloud Admin works as a first responder and is ultimately responsible for ensuring our cloud infrastructure services are up and running. 

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

• Provide leadership in the architecture, engineering and sustaining activities to build and maintain a world class and high-availability Cloud infrastructure 
• Work closely with Engineering and DevOps teams to maintain test / staging / production environments to meet uptime, performance, cost and security goals 
• Ensure that day-to-day operational requirements and SLAs are met 
• Proactive process improvement including problem, incident and root cause analysis to reduce future issues 
• Work with key Business stakeholders to understand their business requirements, recommend potential solutions, and secure resources to deliver 
• Act as a technical point of escalation & mentor for junior staff
• Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources
• Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiency. 
• Insure all services have required security compliance for patch management, anti-virus, and other threat protection
• Works closely with other operations staff, engineering and client services to insure all Cloud services are available 24 x 7 

Qualifications - Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred 
• 7+ years of experience as an IT Professional, with at least 2+ years working on a 24x7 production operations team 
• Experience with various virtualization technologies, preferably VMware, and have a broad understanding of the virtual to cloud eco-systems 
• Must possess experience configuring and maintaining secure, large-scale, complex, distributed applications/platforms 
• Understanding of network configuration (DNS, VPN, IP Proxy, Firewall, DHCP) 
• Expertise with Linux systems administration (CentOS, RHEL or similar) 
• Experience in scripting languages (Ruby, Bash, Python or similar) 
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure & Application monitoring tools (Boundary, New Relic or similar) 
• Experience in log collection/log management solutions (statsd, collectd, LogInsight) 
• Experience with orchestration/provisioning solutions (Chef or similar) 
• Have highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written
