Job Title: Technical Documentation Specialist
Location: Chanhassen, MN
Pay: $40-45/hr. DOE

Job Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for all document formatting/layout and general content, primarily Operation and Maintenance Manuals. 
  • Others will review specific technical section and redline. 
  • Technical Writer will incorporate changes into documentation and use documentation control system to control revisions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of internal and external customers. 
  • Thorough observation of work area(s) is alert to and avoids unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards. Reports any observed hazards to supervisor. Participates in corrective measures when appropriate or authorized. Maintains personal area in an orderly fashion, free of hazards. 
  • Becomes familiar with and practices all safety procedures. Seeks clarification or additional information when required. Strictly adheres to requirements for PPE and all safety rules. 

Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise: 

  • Specific experience with multi-document collations with automated Table-of-Contents and Indexing 
  • Minimum 5 years experience as Technical Writer with MS Office products (Word and Excel) 

The Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting IT projects/initiatives/processes and ensuring accuracy of documentation. This job will include document creation, including technical diagrams, manuals and/or guides, and procedural materials. Responsibilities will include researching, writing, editing, proofreading, and maintaining documentation. This position will follow writing style standards for order, clarity, and terminology-along with creating screenshots/diagrams/charts to support text. This position will work closely with Operations Technology (OT) colleagues to ensure accuracy of the documentation.


• Provide technical writing documentation support for projects/initiatives.
• Develop and update technical documentation/content adhering to format, content and style guidelines.
• Develop processes and procedures for keeping documentation up-to-date for both printed and on-line content.
• Ensure the quality of all documents and data to assure the project's integrity.
• Research and evaluate new documentation tools and methods.


• Bachelors degree in English, Communications, or related field and 5+ years of related technical writing experience
• Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and maintain content in an intuitively navigable format both in printed form and in on-line content
• Experience working with industry writing style, including grammar, sentence form, and structure
• Excellent proofreading, editing, and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must possess a positive attitude, be ambitious, and work well in a team environment
