Technical Writer/Content Designer - Mountain View, CA

Job Description:

The goal is to deliver simple, trusted, and personalized answers to employee questions about the company’s immigration program and services. 

Responsibilities:
  • Take content from multiple sources, and reconfigure it within the Immigration intranet
  • Stay on top of daily editorial requests to keep content accurate. 
  • Deliver high-quality, user-driven content that’s easy to understand and action. The information you publish will provide answers to immigration-related questions, and guide employees, HRBPs and recruiters through the work permit and permanent residency process
  • Will develop websites/intranet sites that clearly relay information. Provide readers with the needed guidance as to next steps and answers questions they may have.
  • Manage data and information across multiple sites to ensure consistency. Determine unnecessary/obsolete info and ensure listed procedures are up to date 
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others
  • Optimize content for usability and internal search
  • Communicate clearly with the intranet team and immigration subject matter experts
  • Follow best practice to deliver consistent tone of voice and structure
  • Maximize help center content management system functionality 
  • Use data and user insights to improve content and user experience 
  • Support the drive to improve how content is organized in the help center content management system

Required Skills/Experience/Education:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience 
  • Experience with HTML
  • Experience in Analytics and UX 
  • 5+ years of professional experience working in a high traffic site/intranet content design role 
  • Experience developing a "consistent" approach to presented information for employees and stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Tech writing skills combined with  excellent communication skills and
  • Skilled at liaising with subject matter experts

Desired:
  • Proven record of researching, writing and organizing help center content 
  • Ability to digest information quickly and explain it in simple terms targeted to consumer audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Experience rewriting complex information in a way that is accessible
