Our client’s IIT Commercial DevOps team has a need for a Sr. Search Analyst. This role will be an individual contributor responsible for delivering projects in the Digital Marketing and eCommerce space. The candidate will work closely the Commercial DevOps manager, and partner with Technical Leaders in Digital Marketing and eCommerce space, other cross-functional IT team members, partner/vendor delivery team members, business stakeholders and leadership team distributed across geographical locations including Corning, NY, Hickory, NC and Tewksbury, MA. 

Responsibilities: 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Review and assess existing search platform implementation at client site 

• Help document as-is system 

• Identify opportunities for optimization 

• Assist in troubleshooting production support issues 

• Identify opportunities to document and streamline production support 

• Investigate and resolve performance issues 

• Work in collaboration with the search platform vendor, client partners and related project teams to realize target architecture 

• Assess technical risks and provide strategy for mitigation 

• Guide architectural choices for implementing different search use cases for B2B, B2C and Unified Search 

• Productively work in a highly collaborative agile team, coach other team members, actively participate in knowledge sharing 

 

Desired Qualifications & Requirements: 

Our desired candidate is a Lucene/SOLR expert, a search and information retrieval technologist, who has broad web scale search engine deployment experience. Specific qualifications include: 

 

• B.S/M.S in Computer Science or equivalent 

• Have 3+ years of experience with search technology such as Apache Lucene/Solr/Lucidworks Fusion 

• Have a good understanding of integrating search modules into B2B, B2C and Digital Marketing web properties 

• Experience integrating search with content management solutions such as Adobe AEM is a plus 

• Experience integrating search with eCommerce platforms such as SAP Hybris is a plus 

• Experience with front-end technologies such as React, AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc. 

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution, based on platforms and industry best practices 

• Deep knowledge of inner workings of SOLR and Lucene is highly desired 

• Open source contributions to the Lucene/SOLR code base is a strong plus 

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills 

• Ability to articulate and present complex concepts, ideas and strategies to end users 

• Must have worked on a search-driven website with high traffic volume
