Mobile Product Designer - Mountain View, CA

Job Description:

We are looking for a product designer with a background in mobile design and a deep understanding of design systems. As a Mobile Product Designer you will:

  • Collaborate with scientists, designers and engineers to invent and realize new methods of interactions and unprecedented product experience, across digital and physical touchpoints. 
  • Translate conceptual user interaction models into interactive interfaces that are intuitive, beautiful, accessible, and emotionally engaging. 
  • Define user flows and experiences that are exceptionally elegant. 
  • Design components of a digital interaction model that enables a hardware-centric user experience. 
  • Work with a highly cross functional team to establish and endorse a new visual language, outside the familiar patterns of app and web design. 
  • Collaborate with our User Research team to iteratively evaluate, and evolve visual directions and explorations. 
  • Document and communicate the information architecture system to stakeholders. 
  • Execute against several workstreams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. 
  • Use user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals. 

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of professional experience in mobile product design (interaction and visual design) 
  • A portfolio that proves excellent interaction and visual design skills, across a variety of platforms and domains - ** Please provide Portfolio link on resume** 
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with storytelling to various audiences. 
  • Experience in designing and implementing end-to-end design solutions for products. 
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong visual design skills for mobile; mastery of layout, typography and color 
  • Demonstrated strategic product thinking and progressive vision experience 
  • Ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach with a cross functional team. 
  • Understanding of mobile design ecosystem, best practices and technical limitations across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for different platforms.
