Senior Planner, Demand Forecasting - Fountain Valley, CA

Job Description:

  • As the Senior Planner, Demand Forecasting, you will be responsible for the ownership over the service parts category demand planning related activities across North America. This includes implementing demand planning strategies, demand planning processes, and executing top down/bottom up level forecasts that support customer service, inventory and cost objectives. You will collaborate with the appropriate leaders of cross-functional teams to ensure agreed
  • Processes and procedures are in place to support: Customer Service, Inventory management, and business process improvements across the Supply chain. In addition, you will effectively handle communication of Key Performance analysis and improvement plans.
  • 4 - 6 or more years of progressively demonstrated and broadening, highly successful experience in Forecasting, Demand Planning, and Inventory Deployment in a sophisticated, disciplined manufacturing and/or distribution environments
  • Demonstrate d ability to identify problems/issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and follow-up to ensure positive results is required
  • Experience with a forecasting software implementation and forecast algorithms such as Croston’s, Holt-Winter’s, Lewandowski models is a differentiator
  • Forecasting Experience
  • Implementation of Forecasting system
  • Company is Currently using a homegrown system but will be transitioning to a new system next year
  • This person will be part of the change and help communicate/train on new system
  • Excellent communications skills – will be responsible for communicating forecasting to all PDCs, management and CEO
  • Statistical background
  • Self-Starter – this would be the 1st person in this role, no SOP have been establish or created
  • Supply Chain / Apex certified a plus
  • This person will be responsible for forecasting the supply needs for all 9 Automotive Part Warehouses  for all parts.  Which is over $60 million dollars responsibility. 
  • He will look for someone that can provided accurate analysis per part, per location. 
  • Experience with parts a huge plus, but will be open to non-automobile experience but they should have retails or at least have experience with a few thousand SKUs. 
  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint, Access can be limited, but they should have been exposed to it.
  • Collaborate with management to establish strategic KPI’s aligned to external and internal customer organizational priorities
  • Develop and administer KPI tracking for forecast accuracy targets
  • Develop and administer KPI tracking for inventory deployment targets
  • Provide expert level analysis of process or system issues impacting KPI achievements
  • Provide regular daily, weekly, and monthly reports measuring performance against objectives / plan
  • Support and oversee adhoc report requests of coordinators and executive management
  • Support business needs of  Automotive dealers, field, regional and HQ staff, affiliated companies, and other customers
  • Oversee and develop special programs as needed
  • Collaborate with the operations, logistics, customs, warehouse, and distribution teams to ensure proper deployment of Inventory •Manage special projects as needed
  • Coordinate with global partners to identify practices and to maximize global supply chain operations
  • Responsible for the monthly demand planning process which includes building forecasts, making recommendations, and incorporating historical and market intelligence data into the current forecast. 40%
  • Responsible for inventory deployment in a multi-tier network. Manage this process to ensure inventory is deployed from the Central Distribution Center to other warehouses within the network. 20%
  • Identify, prioritize, and drive process (or system) improvements aligned to MPA goals and strategies in order to maximize

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/Preferred
  • Bachelors Business Required
  • Masters Business Preferred

Additional Education Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Statistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or other appropriate field.
  • Graduate degree in business preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Years of Experience Job Category Required/Preferred
  • 4-6 years Operations - Logistics General Required
