Ceramics Process Technician - Addison, NY
Summary: Encompasses the application of scientific and technological principles concerned with a continuous or periodic system of operations or activities in the production of manufactured products. Designs and plans layout and sequence for such processes as batching, extrusion, plugging, skinning, machining, skinning, and measurement of ceramic substrates and filters. Plans and executes trials and experiments to determine the economic, quality, safety and operator effectiveness and comfort impact of the process or change. Conducts investigations and surveys of processes, material, equipment, and personnel for improved understanding and prioritized process and product improvement.
Essential Skills: Experience with Microsoft Excel, and solid computer skill in general for data collection and investigation. Technical curiosity and problem solving ability. And, ability to effectively communicate observations, learnings, and proposals for improvement.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 yrs experience in in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with an AAS degree, or BS degree with a minimum of 3 years work experience. Corning Incorporated proven experience of 1-3 years in a manufacturing or engineering environment will also will be considered.
Work Hours: Typically 40 hours per week in a 24x7 manufacturing environment, with some overtime, weekend and off-hours work, as required to meet the needs of the department and the business. Not likely to exceed 50 hours per week.
Steel toes shoes and safety glasses required for all work in our production environment.
