Job Summary:

  • We currently have an opening in Sterling Heights, MI for an Electronics Engineering Technician to help create, layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems for a Military Land Vehicle program
Job Description:
  • Create, maintain and repair electronic components and equipment in Military Land Vehicles.
  • Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems
  • Work as a part of an Engineering team to deliver high quality products to our customers using innovative solutions and creative thinking.
  • Familiar with and capable of following schematics and mechanical drawings in order to build prototype level electronic equipment.
  • Experience with Mil Spec soldering is required
  • Experienced with the repair, modification and rework of printed circuit boards, both fine pitched Surface Mount Device (SMD) and through-hole components, in accordance with MIL Spec 2000 or IPC-A-610 Standards is desirable.
  • Familiar with general laboratory test equipment such as digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Ability to apply electronic theory, electrical testing procedures, basic electronics mathematics and related knowledge necessary to build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic equipment.
  • Competent in the use of general mechanical hand and power tools (i.e. drill, dremel, fastening tools, mill press, etc.).
  • Has a developed understanding of applying Electro Static Discharge (ESD) procedures in relation to working with sensitive electronics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio).
  • Need to support implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS standards and policies.
  • Team oriented, flexible and willing to work occasional overtime hours (up to 15 hours).
  • Required to support limited travel as necessary.
  • Capable of developing Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designs using Altium Design Software is a plus.
