Electrical Design Engineer (Mentor/Expedition) - Laurel, MD
Generate the design fabrication files and associated documentation for printed wiring boards and substrates using sophisticated computer aided design tools including Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium Designer
Advanced certification interconnect designer (CID+) certification through the IPC.
Experience with HyperLynx.
Familiarity with IO Designer and Drawing Editor
Work with lead engineers to define design parameters for a given board or substrate in accordance with established processes.
Use tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium Designer to generate library parts, schematics, layout geometries, BOMs, assembly drawings, and fabrication files for the design.
Work with engineers and fabricators to resolve technical issues relying on knowledge and experience with the design tools and design for manufacturing techniques.
Enter design documentation into the product lifecycle management tool, and project data into the work tracking system as required.
Thorough knowledge of, and a minimum of 8 years experience working with Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Altium design tools.
Demonstrated skills in the development of designs for sophisticated electronics, including high-reliability military or spacecraft applications, as well as quickturn, prototype hardware.
Working knowledge of board fabrication and electronics packaging requirements.
